1. How is the CWNP® Wireless# certification different from the CWNA certification?
CWNP® Wireless# is an entry-level certification for professionals who install or support home and small office wireless networks that serve a small number of users.
The CWNA credential is for network administrators - or those who aspire to be a WLAN administrator - who implement, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise wireless networks. These individuals typically work in medium to large organizations that may support hundreds of access points and thousands of users.
Unlike CWNA, Wireless# certified professionals are not expected to have IP networking knowledge prior to taking the exam.

The Wireless# certification covers the skills of help desk technician, customer support representative, retail computer technician, technical support representative, and technical support specialists.

3. How does the Wireless# credential differ from the CompTIA exams?
The Network+ exam measures essential competencies for network support or administration. This exam provides excellent foundational knowledge of computer networks, and provides only a very basic introduction to 802.11 wireless technologies.
The Wireless# credential is focused specifically on technicians and support staff working on wireless networks in homes and small offices. The Wireless# exam goes into an appropriate level of detail required for candidates to succeed in their jobs.
The Wireless# exam covers a broader range of wireless technologies, not just 802.11 or Wi-Fi networks, but also Bluetooth, WiMAX, Infrared, and ZigBee.
4. When will the Wireless# exam be available?
The exam became available on February 1st, 2006
5. Are labs or a practicum part of the Wireless# exams?
The Wireless# exams will not include labs or a practicum. However, the exams may include various graphics to present a more realistic visual representation of the products and skills on which you are being tested so that your exam experience more consistently reflects the types of tasks you might perform on the job.
